What Are Back Pocket Games and Activities?
Back pocket games are quick and sometimes ongoing activities that can be run without any planing, tools or prior preparation. Back Pocket Games generally use things that can be typically found on the ground (sticks, rocks, leaves etc..).
When Should I Use Back Pocket Games?
These games are great to keep to in your “back pocket” for when a group needs a break from more serious activities. I generally use these back pocket games when I’m with a group and need to fill some time. Maybe we’re running early for an activity or maybe I just ran an activity that took less time that expected. This is the perfect time for a back pocket game!

My Personal Favorite Back Pocket Games
As with anything, we all have our favorites. My old standby that I seem to gravitate to more often than not when in need for a quick game are the never can tell games. These are easy to setup and can be run with a group in an ongoing way throughout their experience at your facility.
Most of the back pocket games above just live in my head at this point but you may need a copy that you can easily print out. At Teambly.com we sell a back pocket games e-book for just this purpose. It’s fully printable and helps me to keep updating this site with the latest games for you to check out. You can grab it in our books section.
